Last year we began a partnership with the Huntington Society of Canada in the form of a cross-Canada tour raising awareness about Huntington's disease. We spread the word about HD, and met many fine folks from HSC Chapters across the country. At the end of the tour we were hired by the London chapter to provide entertainment for their fall benefit. It was a wonderful event that raised $7500.
A local Niagara volunteer then approached us about a winter benefit—on Feb 11th, over 250 community members gathered to enjoy a night of music at the beautiful Seneca Queen Theatre, and raised just under $9000! Check out the Niagara College Broadcasting footage of the event.
We have another two benefit shows booked for the spring, April 29th 2017 in Durham, and a Kitchener date TBA. Let’s keep a good thing going! Read this blog post by the HSC to find out more about hosting a benefit concert in your area.
